Rudlings Solicitors LLP are pleased to introduce their new dispute resolution department based at their Thetford Office, offering quality legal advice and assistance across a wide range of contentious issues, affecting you, your family and your business.

Whilst based at Thetford, Marcus Louise and Team can offer appointments in Bury St Edmunds, Brandon and at Rudlings new office in Norwich, or, of course by remote means such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Our Dispute Resolution Department can draw on the experience and assistance of our colleagues from our commercial, conveyancing, family law and private client departments, adopting a collaborative approach at the earliest stage of an issue arising or with a view to minimise the likelihood of contentious issues arising  to ensure that whatever course you take via litigation, or alternative dispute resolution  you will have the best possible opportunity to succeed.

We can provide detailed budgets, risk assessments updates to help you to project manage and predict litigation costs effectively and utilise all  possible avenues for determining your dispute.

Marcus Chapman

Marcus is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team based at our office in Thetford, having spent the previous 10 years at firms in West Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, as both Senior Associate and Partner.

Marcus qualified as a Solicitor in 2003, having previously qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Executives in 1996.

Marcus has been a civil litigator for the past 30+ years and has extensive experience. Whilst Marcus has a background in personal injury where he undertakes instructions on all nature of personal injury and fatal accident claims on occasion in excess of £1 million, he has undertaken and continues to manage a varied caseload.

Notable previous instructions involve acting for infant claimants in a class action against Addenbrookes Hospital during the Miles Bradbury child abuse litigation, and diversely, acting within a mixed commercial and disputes team for a Formula 1 engine manufacturer in a number of disputes with Formula 1 teams concerning purported engine performance issues.

Marcus undertakes instructions on licensing, intellectual property disputes; defamation, professional negligence actions, building and construction disputes and is a keen advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution in its various forms.

Away from the office, Marcus enjoys watching rugby both at amateur and professional level, having retired from playing for his local team as hooker, when the pain became more than the gain!

Marcus has 2 teenage children and most of his free time is spent as an unpaid taxi service. When time allows Marcus enjoys long walks with his 2 spaniels. Marcus’ wife and daughter both ride horses and apart from being an unpaid taxi driver, Marcus’s skills are utilised as an unpaid stable hand.

Louise Harcombe

Louise joined our team in 2022 and qualified as a Solicitor in December 2022. Louise graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2019 and completed her Legal Practice Course and Masters in Law with BPP University through the pandemic.

Louise also has 3 years practice experience handling various disputes including claims for misrepresentation, consumer rights claims, commercial and contract disputes, employment tribunal claims, debt recovery, as well as personal injury and clinical negligence. In particular, Louise has a background in the equestrian industry and has experience handling a number of disputes for equestrian businesses and individuals.

Outside of office hours, Louise has a keen interest in outdoor sports and can be found cycling round the tracks of Thetford Forest, grooming for carriage driving teams up and down the country and occasionally being persuaded to get out on the North Sea in a small boat.

Katie Latham

Katie has previously worked as a Legal PA for the past 25 years in London before making the move from Essex to Norfolk in November 2022 and joining Rudlings in December 2022.

Katie has worked in a variety of areas of law to include personal injury, family law, conveyancing and disputes but with most of her experience being in corporate law.  However, corporate law was not where Katie’s interest lies and she feels working with Rudlings more rewarding.

Outside of work, Katie is a Mum of 3 and spends a lot of time exploring the local area with her husband and children. She enjoys various types of music and attends as many gigs as she can. She also has a caravan by the sea which is where the family spend many weekends and holidays together with their 2 pugs.

Denise Moulton

Denise has previously worked in the Financial Services Industry for 20 years in London before moving to work local for Essex Police in various civilian roles. She moved counties in May 2013 undertaking various positions including PA/Office Manager before joining Rudlings in July 2017.

Denise has worked in a variety of areas within Rudlings as a Legal PA to include Family law, Commercial, Private Client and Dispute Resolution

Outside of work, Denise is a Mum to 1 human and 2 pooches and spends her time walking the hounds with her husband and daughter, enjoying good food, watching football and the odd Aspalls cider at her local Community Pub.
