Rudlings Wakelam are delighted to announce their support of the Watoto Choir on the 27th January at St Mary’s Church, Bury St Edmunds.
World renowned Children’s Choir’ Watoto’ from Uganda, East Africa can be seen live in an electrifying Concert titled ‘Signs and Wonders’, at St Mary’s Church, Bury St Edmunds on Friday 27th January 2017. Following their last visit to Bury in 2013 where the choir received a rapturous response, concert organisers are delighted to have the choir back at one of the largest parish churches in England. In one of the first concerts to be staged of their new production ‘Signs and Wonders’, the children share stories of how their lives have been changed, and how they have been called into a life of purpose to transform their communities. Each story will declare the miracle of transformation – from darkness to light; from despair to hope; from loss to purpose; from fear to faith.
With scintillating drumbeats, engaging dance moves and exciting audio-visual effects; witness inspirational true life stories of triumph over tragedy. The choir has travelled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the 47.5 million children in Africa, orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and human trafficking.
Watoto performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012 to much acclaim, and have performed to President’s and Royal Families all over the world including the White House.
Tickets are FREE from the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds; a booking fee applies https://www.theatreroyal.org/shows/concert-by-watoto-choir/“>https://www.theatreroyal.org/shows/concert-by-watoto-choir/. People will be asked to make contributions during the concert.
