Steven McGrath, appointed Partner

Steven McGrath has been appointed as the newest Partner in the firm Rudlings Wakelam as from 1st May.

Steven joined Rudlings Wakelam in 2007 as a trainee solicitor, working in their Commercial department and qualified with the firm in 2009.

Fiona Ashmead, Senior Partner said, “We are delighted that the original potential we saw in Steven as a trainee has proved to be founded and that he is now joining us as a partner in the firm. We are looking forward to taking the firm forward with Steven as part of the team”.

Steven is primarily based in our Thetford office but travels to see clients at our other offices. He specialises in commercial property work acting for a wide spectrum of corporate clients and private investors in relation to freehold acquisitions and developments projects as well as Landlord and Tenant work.

Steven says, “I am grateful to the Partners for admitting me to the Partnership. I am very pleased to commit my future to the firm and very excited about my new role and the new era ahead”.

In addition, Steven focuses on business transactions dealing with share and asset acquisitions and disposals as well as general commercial work including:

  • Supply of goods and services & terms of trade
  • Rights and duties of shareholders and directors – including shareholders agreement and directors service contracts
  • Finance including mortgages, charges, debentures and personal guarantees
  • Partnership including the drafting and advising on partnership deeds
  • Distribution, agency and franchise and all things commercial based

Active in the Community. Steven is a school governor at Thetford Grammar School and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses and the Country Land Owners Association. Outside of the law Steven has a keen interest in sport, he enjoys football and rugby and generally keeping fit. His latest challenge is taking part in the gruelling Race for the Sun in the Brecon beacons to raise funds for Action Medical Research. This involves a 50 mile bike ride, climbing a mountain and kayaking for 3 miles across a lake. All this between sun up and sun down.

Steven is also a family man, living locally with his wife and his newborn son, Daniel.
