Penny Brice becomes SNELS President

Penny Brice, Senior Partner and Solicitor at Rudlings Wakelam took on the mantle of President of the local Law Society office SNELS (Suffolk and North Essex Law Society) on the 4th July 2013.

Penny’s inauguration took place at the Annual General Meeting held in Ipswich on the 4th July, she takes over from the Hon. Jonathan Ripman of Gotelee’s in Ipswich.

Penny says, “I am proud to be elected President and hope that I can continue to represent the local profession as skillfully as Jonathan Ripman has just done”. “I believe SNELS provides a collective and strong voice for the local legal profession to enable their opinions and views to be heard in a fast changing legal world and also provides an approachable public face to what otherwise can appear to be a somewhat formal profession”.

Penny specialises in Wills & Tax Planning, a service which she offers from all four of Rudlings Wakelam’s offices based throughout East Anglia: Bury St Edmunds, Brandon, Long Melford and Thetford. The practice offers a wide range of private and commercial legal services.

What is SNELS?

SNELS represents all members within its region at The Law Society in Chancery Lane, London, both through its active Council and Chancery Lane Council Member. In conjunction with the University of Essex and University College Suffolk, SNELS hosts highly successful SELECT Continuing Professional Development Courses. Each year, again with the University of Essex, SNELS holds the Annual Essex Law Lecture, which attracts very high profile speakers. In addition there are Practice Development Seminars, which are free to members and carry CPD points. There is a very active Council and Junior Lawyers Division. SNELS is proud to support the Ipswich & Suffolk Council for Racial Equality (ISCRE) providing legal services in the form of advocacy/casework and a free law advice centre.
