Rudlings Wakelam are again proud to be the sponsors of the Blackthorpe Barn Summer Concert 2009.
Each year in July Blackthorpe Barn opens its doors to some of the world’s greatest classical musicians when it puts on its International Summer Music Festival. People come from far and wide to hear the fantastic players perform in this unique setting.
This year the line up featured:
Welsh Pianist Llyr Williams whose reputation has grown enormously since his first appearance at the Edinburgh Festival some years ago.
The Mexican guitarist Morgan Szymanski who was recently described as ‘ a player destined for future glories’ by Classical Guitar Magazine.
The Razumovsky Ensemble who have become something of an institution at Blackthorpe Barn, returning year after year.
Maxim Rysanov who is recognised as one of the world’s best and most charismatic viola players. He is also the winner of the prestigious 2008 Classical FM Gramophone Young Artist of the Year.
The final evening featured one of the world’s greatest string quartets, the Belcea Quartet, who brought the festival to a superb finale with a performance of Schubert’s Death and the Maiden and Beethoven’s quartet Op59 No2.
