Head of Department for Mental Health
Scott joined Rudlings Wakelam in October 2013 and specialises in Childcare Law and Mental Health Law.
He is a member of the Law Society's Child Law and Mental Health Law panels, a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association.
Scott is an experienced Childcare solicitor and represents children, parents and other family members in cases involving a wide range of issues including neglect, emotional harm, physical abuse, sexual abuse, substance misuse and domestic violence. Scott conducts as much of his own advocacy as possible and spends a great deal of time in Court all over East Anglia.
Scott is head of the firm's Mental Health department and has been practicing in this field since 2004. Scott represents clients detained under all sections of the Mental Health Act 1983 and those subject to Community Treatment Orders (CTOs). Scott regularly represents clients at Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Hearings all over East Anglia and London. He is experienced in representing a wide range of people including children, and those convicted of serious criminal offences.
Away from the office, Scott enjoys spending time with family & friends, travel, food, and sport, particularly football and the ever-changing fortunes of Arsenal FC.
